June Lake & Yosemite

Tuolumne River

August 15, 2008 - August 19, 2008: Alex and I decided to take a long weekend camping trip to Yosemite for his birthday. Rather than try our luck at a campground in Yosemite since we didn't have a reservation, we decided to set up camp at Oh! Ridge Campground right by June Lake. It was such a beautiful spot and I've always loved June Lake! It was only about a 20 minute drive to the east entrance of Yosemite, so it wasn't bad at all. On our first day in Yosemite we hiked on Murphy Creek Trail for about 2 hours then went kayaking in Tenaya Lake. On our second day, we went on a 7 hour hike (total there and back) on the Glen Aulin Trail to Tuolumne Falls. We were SO tired after! On our third day we first stopped at Tioga Lake, then hiked on Yosemite Creek Trail for about 3 hours before returning to our campsite at June Lake. The next morning we went kayaking on June Lake before heading home. Our trip was so amazing and I had forgotten just how much I love Yosemite, June Lake, and the Eastern Sierras in general.
